Chasing new leads may seem like one more task fighting for first place on your to-do list, but it can actually be kind of exciting. Think about your best customers… they used to be leads way back when.
Leads are chances. Leads are on opportunity to persuade, pitch, and win. As we say in the inbound marketing world, the buying cycle goes like this: Attract, Convert, Close and Delight. Discovering leads is the part where you notice customers in the marketplace AND THEY NOTICE YOU! Yes, it is a little like a romance, and without the basic notion of how the "wooing" process works, you're destined to warm the folding chairs along the wall at the eighth grade dance.
United WebWorks is all about helping businesses succeed in finding leads, attracting them in ways they WANT to be attracted, and finally bringing about a lovely long-term relationship. "Lead generation" is a rather cold-hearted way of describing what we're talking about, so just be aware that it's much more complicated than you might think.
What follows are 6 "chapter titles" of a non-existent book about finding love in a commercial world. In other words, from our long experience with lead generation Savannah GA, these are 6 things that work to attract and convert those handsome new customers out there.
Leverage Economics 101
When there's a lot of apples on the market, their price goes down. When there aren't very many, the price goes up. That's the law of supply and demand. The law of scarcity you learned about in Economics class holds true for lead generation. When we see limited time offers or limited quantities of product, our ingrained sense of urgency kicks in, like when we used to traverse the north African savannah in search of dinner.
Swim with the Current Events
Your kids do them in middle school, you can do it too! Just read the latest pop culture, global events, industry news, political goings on, and use it to toot your own horn. This is a great way to use social media, by the way, just be careful not to commit any marketing faux pas, like the NRA did after the Aurora movie theater shootings…
Different Strokes for Different Buying Stages
Not all leads are in the exploration phase. They may be well along in the journey and you just don't know about it yet. Diversify the message and tone to pick up leads at every point in the sales funnel.
Proffer the Offers
Brainstorm the possibilities, and there are many! Ebooks, research reports, kits, webinars, video training, templates, whitepapers and more! Place the offers in the right places carefully geared to the viewer and leads will come your way.
Work Hard on your Titles
You know what they say about first impressions! Don't feel bad about taking more time on the title than on the actual content. Getting people's attention is really the point of lead generation, but in your cleverness, don't sin. This Associated Press title from a couple of years ago shows you why:
Bad Facebook. We hope you don't do that anymore.
Calls To Action
ALWAYS place one in emails, blogs, your website pages, podcasts, even social media posts. You never know when someone will be ready to click, so give them an open door all the time! Make sure they are clear and simple, specialized to the context or customer and, most importantly, linked to a dedicated landing page that will escort them onward in their journey to buy. Follow up with a thank you page after they enter their contact information.
