Web Design and Marketing for Law Firms

March 11, 2016

Lawyers, you've been summoned.

Is your current website hostis humani generis? Or perhaps you plead nolo contendere to the charge that your website isn't producing the clientele you were hoping for.

The state of your website leaves you in the unenviable condition of having to market your firm while you try to give full attention to billable hours. We argue a fortiori that your lack of business is due to this dilemma. Are we having too much fun with this legal wordplay? Guilty as charged.

There are solutions for you, and no, they don't include hiring an in-house marketer, making cheesy TV commercials, or chasing ambulances in your free time. If you use it correctly, the internet has the power to reach your community with your message all the time (especially when you're working hard on a case), in all weather, every day, and every night.

Web design and marketing for law firms

Managing internet marketing for law firms comes with unique challenges that other projects don't require. When we are contracted to take on a legal online marketing project, we know it's so much more than just a dignified-looking site with your picture on it. You're asking for help to market your image and your reputation as much as your specific services. Whether your online presence is simply for effective branding or a component of a larger lead generation strategy, you want your new or rescued website to make you easily findable, positively impressive, and a simple gateway for interaction with new clients.

John E. Pytte is a bankruptcy attorney serving Savannah and Hinesville, GA, specializing in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy, foreclosures, debt relief and business/personal taxes. His personal and professional mission is refreshingly altruistic: to put an end to overwhelming debt incurred by individuals and families, thereby ameliorating the suffering and frustration brought on by financial instability. Giving his clients a fresh start and a second chance in life is his foundational motivation to offer his services to those who need it.

As Mr. Pytte looked at his growing law practice, he realized the need for an expanded footprint for his message. He met with United WebWorks in the fall of 2014 to talk through some ideas for making his current website work harder and better.

We learned all kinds of interesting things about Mr. Pytte and his practice. He's incredibly compassionate with his clients as he journeys with them through the process of getting relief from crushing debt. His reputation as a lawyer with a heart has begun to take root due to his unique "soft" approach, and he wanted his website to reflect and communicate that to those searching for bankruptcy or tax services in the Savannah and Hinesville areas.

By the spring of 2015, after much consultation and refinement, we launched Georgia Debt Relief as part of a coordinated online marketing strategy. The plan included a weekly Georgia Debt Relief blog entry on the interplay between the law and financial obligation.

After a few weeks, we showed Mr. Pytte a report on the statistics that measure key analystics, as we do regularly for all of our clients. When Mr. Pytte saw how well his upgraded website was performing, he decided to ask us to manage PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns for his firm as well.

What lawyers and law firms want

We know that most lawyers and law firms want the same things as John Pytte: validation of their brand, client generation, to be eminently findable, to make a positive impression on searchers, to create an easy pathway for contact. A custom website is often the best way to immediately meet these goals. Along with excellent and appropriate design, functionality, search engine optimization, and device responsiveness are not extras, but come standard with an online marketing plan from United WebWorks. We get it - it's not really about a nice new website, it's about having more clients and continuing to make a positive impact on your communities.

It is possible to throw together a simple website in a week, but that would be like constructing a beautiful home with no plumbing, wiring, floors, or fixtures inside. What's the point? That's why we pay close attention to detail in all aspects of production. We start with an in-depth interview to get to know you and your practice. From there, we begin to understand how the design and layout should unfold, how to craft professional copywriting that accentuates your message, and even design a great logo for you, if needed.

Search Engine Optimization makes your website more than just a pretty face. We carefully research keywords that make your site appealing to search engines and feature them on all pages. We also create search engine-friendly headers, page and graphic metadata, and link formats that do wonders for your position on search returns. Google+ Local search is increasingly important to local law practices, and allows you to link your listing to a map that clients can interact with.

We can also train you or your staff on how to keep your website up to date. In addition, we'll show you how to gather and interpret analytics reports to keep track of your return on your investment in marketing your practice online.

We understand web design and marketing for law firms - the intricacies, business preferences and pressures, and the appeal of having a web presence that acts like a staff member. Your website should represent you to the public in an attractive, inviting way that rewards you with leads and your clients with great legal counsel.

A website upgrade - by either updating or creating a custom new one - is urgent, having a certain periculum in mora because you are losing clients, revenue, and legal representation for people who don't know about you! We at United WebWorks are looking forward to your fiat on our proposal to help you succeed!
